The REAL ROCK DIVAS  journey begins in the early 70s, where The RUNAWAYS and several other bands laid the groundwork for what would become a lasting impression on the face of music. These bands helped ignite local scenes in Los Angeles, the Bay area of California and New York City, which helped fuel a worldwide chick rock movement. By the dawn of the 1990’s, the DONNAS, L7, KITTIE and the LUNACHICKS were on their way to becoming some  of the biggest female rock acts of all time. In the early 2000's, a changing musical landscape sent chick rockers back into the underground. Some of the musicians passed away, some moved to other bands and some bands broke up. While the music lived on, the scene was forever changed.

"[This] REALITY CHECK DVD is a real eye-opener. It has been a long time in the making and has good production values. Not flawless but good enough. Last month, I went to the Old Mab in SF's North Beach to see the Turbonegro tribute band TurbonegrA; from the booth where I was sitting, Huge from Reality Check was setting up his display of this video. He sold me immediately on buying a copy. I am thoroughly glad I did!

REAL ROCK DIVAS contains live action clips of punk, metal, exotic and neo new wave bands in concert and in exclusive interviews. This is the only video I know that has its focus only on girl bands. It doesn't pander but it doesn't censor either. According to their website, Reality Check TV is trying to get the video into national outlets like Target, Best Buy, and Wal-Mart.
