Director Michael Campus sorted through his personal archives to find his notes, photographs and scripts from his movie classic ‘The Mack’. These priceless archives are now housed inside the Bancroft Library on the campus of the University of Berkeley near Oakland California.

“It was hard to let go of those items”, said Director Campus, “but they are now part of history and deserve to be see by everyone.” Mr. Campus, along with his wife and business partner Arla Dietz Campus, delivered several boxes of notes, photos and other material to the library. The archive will be catalogued and sorted in preparation for the items to be placed on display inside the library’s museum. Along side historical items from gold rush days through the free speech movement, ‘The Mack’ archives will not only tell a story about the film, but they will also be a window into Oakland in the early 1970’s.

Local film and television producer Hugh Kinniburgh (Reality Check TV, Thomas Kinkade) was on hand to represent the alternative media community at this historical event. “Mr. Campus continues to be an inspiration to independent film makers. Film students and the community at large will benefit from this.”
