I have been building amps and restoring vintage amps for about a year now and I have to say that the guys at Tone Tubby have been more than helpful. The speakers speak for themselves. I've used the 40/40's, the Red's, and the small 8 alnico's. I just put two 40/40's in a 73 vibrolux and that amp came alive. Nothing but good vibes from the Tone Tubby guys.

I received the Tone Tubby yesterday and installed it in my Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp. I played on the Fender with the original Jensen speaker for about 20 minutes before I switched it over to the TT. I must admit that the Jensen sounded so good that I was unsure if there would be that much difference with the TT. I have to say that I was amazed at the difference. I was laughing out-loud as the TT annihilated the Jensen. It is better in every-way. The bottom end is tighter, cleaner and more punchy. The mids are more resonate and more upfront and the highs are crisp but not brittle and there is an overall warmth that is just not possible from the Jensen. A vintage JBL D-120 will do some of the things your TT will do but they always sound just a bit to bright and just a bit to sterile. I like JBL's for my bass but always wish they were a bit warmer for guitar. Your TT is like a good JBL without the problems and it is so very warm. I am so impressed. This is by far my guitar speaker of choice.

Great work Guys! I just bought a 10" alnico TT for my 1967 Princeton Reverb and had to drop you a line to say thanks for the greatest speaker! I guess it's just what the PR needed, because it sounds sooooooo good now i can't believe it... the 40 watt TT seems to have made the amp more powerful. This PR runs at 18 watts! it's a jem, but the 25 watt ceramic speaker that i had in there just couldn't deal with the power of this little amp and sound sharp and papery .. But now with the Alnico TT in there it's simple sounds beautiful ... like a little deluxe Reverb

"I used John's speakers in conjunction with an old silvertone head and got the coolest most authentic early sixties garage band tone. I'm definitely a convert." - Pete Buck - REM
Tobias has just got a Blackstar amp. Nice UK designed tube amp, With 2 EL34 TAD output tubes. All and all a nice sounding amp. But we have just changed the standard mounted Celestion speaker to an Alnico ToneTubby. OMG!!!! Totally New amp. It sound nearly brutally big, and I cant stop being amssed of how much sound these speakers produce. Tobias was in doubt which ToneTubby model he should get both why not have it all so I made hin and Extension cab with a 12” SanRafael. Now he is covered like 148% Wow. Its simply fantastic. Thank you both for being in our lives.
